Hyaluronic acid fillers

Hyaluronic acid is a substance your body already knows. It restores lost volume, enhances the lips or softens deeper folds — always with respect for the proportions of your face. The body gradually absorbs it naturally.

  • Duration30–45 min
  • Resultimmediate
  • Lastsusually 6–12 months
  • Recoverymild swelling for 1–3 days

Who the treatment is for

  • Thin lips, or lips that have lost volume and definition
  • Nasolabial folds and drooping corners of the mouth
  • Loss of volume in the cheekbone area
  • A less defined chin or an unbalanced profile

How the treatment works

  1. ConsultationWe discuss what you would like to achieve and the doctor proposes the amount and injection points.
  2. NumbingWe apply a numbing cream to the area; most products also contain a local anaesthetic.
  3. ApplicationThe gel is injected with a fine needle or cannula and the shape is modelled as we go.
  4. Follow-upOnce the swelling has gone down, we check the result and fine-tune it if needed.

Preparation and aftercare

  • On the first day, do not massage or press the treated area, and do not apply make-up to it for 12 hours.
  • Avoid sauna, solarium and intensive sport for two weeks.
  • Mild swelling and possible bruising are normal and subside within a few days.
  • Drink enough water — hyaluronic acid binds water.

When to postpone the treatment

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Acute inflammation, cold sores or infection in the treated area
  • Blood clotting disorders or blood-thinning medication — always let us know
  • Autoimmune disease in an active phase
  • Allergy to any component of the product

Frequently asked questions

Will it look natural?

That is our main goal. We work with the proportions of your face — better less and fine-tune than overdo it.

How long does a filler last?

Usually 6–12 months. On the lips it tends to last shorter because of movement, in the cheekbone area longer.

Can a filler be removed?

Yes. If needed, hyaluronic acid can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase.

Does it hurt?

Thanks to the numbing cream and the anaesthetic in the product, the treatment is well tolerated; the lips tend to be the most sensitive.
